Charles M. was born on November 27th, 1823 in Marion Co.,TN.1   Charles M.'s father was Churchwell McNew and his mother was Mary J. Kilgore.  His paternal grandparents were George McNew and Sarah Jackson. He had six brothers and three sisters, named James, Stephen K., Isaiah S., Rufus M., Manuel Jackson, Thomas Benton, Sally, Mary Rebecca Elizabeth and Martha A..  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 68 on August 9th, 1892 in McCormick,Pope,Il.  He was buried in August 1892 in Zion Cemetery,Zion Hill,Pope,Il.


Charles M.'s first family with Nancy Paralee Jackson

‌Charles M. and Nancy Paralee were married in a religious ceremony on April 14th, 1849 in Johnson County,IL.  They had five sons and three daughters, named Charles Churchwell, Stephen A. D., Richard, Isaiah M, James, Melvina, Sarah Catherine and Nancy Paralee.

‌Charles M. and Anna were married in a religious ceremony on March 29th, 1863 in ,Pope,Il.  They had five sons and three daughters, named William H., Lewis, Frank, Joseph B, Tillman, Mary S., Marimna J. and Martha A..
