Marada P was born on December 20th, 1853 in Pope Co,IL. Marada P's father was William P Griffin and his mother was Elizabeth Jackson. His paternal grandparents were Andrew J Griffin and Hester A Keys; his maternal grandparents were Richard Jackson Sr and Sarah UNKNOWN. He had five brothers and three sisters, named James W, Isaac H, John Andrew, George "Berry", George R, Sarah Ann M, Mary Ann and Cynthia J. OBITUARY OF MARADA P. GRIFFIN
"Funeral services for Marada P. Griffin of Creal Springs were held Sat. afternoon at Cana Church with Rev. Arthur Travelstead and the pastor of Cana Church officiating. Mr. Griffin was 87 years ago in
Pope County to William and Elizabeth (Jackson) Griffin. He was married to Sarah Ann Watkins 68 years ago and she passed away in 1930.
The following children were born, who survives their father: Mrs. Elizabeth Jackson Griffin; W. P. Griffin of Creal Springs R.F.D.; David Griffin of Marion R.F.D.; Mrs Nigary Miller of Marion; Mrs. Nora Eaton of Marion R.F.D.; Mrs. Belle Borum of Marion R.F.D. and Orley Griffin of St. Louis, MO.
Six brothers and sisters have preceded Mr. Griffin in death, one brother survives, Berry Griffin of near Crab Orchard.
Mr. Griffin was a member of Cana Church where the funeral was held Saturday, with interment in the adjacent cemetery.
