Elfrida or Elftrude was born about 0877 in Wessex,England. Elfrida or Elftrude's father was Alfred the Great and her mother was Ealhswith Alswitha. Her paternal grandparents were Ethelwulf DE WESSEX King Of England and Osburh DE WESSEX; her maternal grandparents were Ethelred Æthelred MUCEL MUCIL and Edburga Eadburh. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Edward I the Elder, Ethelward, Ethelwulf, Edmund, Ethelfleda, Elfrida or Elftrude and Ethelgiva. She died in Flanders. She was buried in St Peter's Abbey,Grant.General Notes
