Henry COMPTON Baron 1st 
Henry was born on February 16th, 1537 in COMPTON,Wyngate,Warwickshire,England and his baptism took place in Baron 1572,built,ASHLEY,Castle,Northampton. Henry's father was Peter COMPTON and his mother was Anne TALBOT. His paternal grandparents were William COMPTON Lord and Warburga BRERETON; his maternal grandparents were George TALBOT and Elizabeth WALDEN. He was an only child. Henry Compton or De Compton
Henry compton only son and heir of Peter Compton of Compton Wyngates, Co. Warwick (Only son and heir of Sir William Compton a courier adn soldier of great distinction) by Anne dau of George Talbot 4th Earl of Shrewsbury was born 16 Feb 1537 suceeded his father, within a year of his birth 30 Jan 1538/9 was knighted by the Ealr of Leicester at Aurendel House 10 Feb 1566, and was summ to Parl. as a Baron (Lord Compton or De Compton) by writs directed "Henrico Compton de Compton Chev," from 8 May (1572) 31 Eliz.
He was oneof the Peers for the trial of Mary Queen of Scots and one of hte 4 chief attendants ayt her funeral 1 Aug 1587
He married firstly Frances daughter of Francis (Hastings) 2nd Earl of Huntingdon by Katherine 1st dau and co-heir of Henry (Pole) Lord Montacute. She died in 1574. He married secondly Anne widow of William (Stanley) Lord Monteagle (who d in 1574) 5th daughter of Sir John Spencer, of ALthrop, County of Northampton, by Katherine daughter of Sir Thomas Kitson of Hergrave, Suffolk.
He wa sbur 10 Dec 159 at Compton afsd. Will dated 17 May 1589 pr 1589. His widow m as his second wife Robert (Sackville) 2nd Earl of Dorset who died 27 Feb 1608/9 She died 22 Sep 1618 will probate 1618.
