Sarah Amelia was born on May 13th, 1836 in Ohio.1 Sarah Amelia's father was Joseph W. Varner and her mother was Lucy Andrews. Her paternal grandparents were John Varner and Sarah Moore; her maternal grandparents were Richard Andrews and Polly H. Baily. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Isaac Daniel, Richard Ellis, Lavosier Marcello, John A., Roxanna M, Louania E, Molona E and Rhoda. She died at the age of 39 on June 27th, 1875 in Butler County, Kansas. She was buried in Fairview Cemeter, Butler, KS.1 1 General Notes
