Joseph Varner 
Joseph was born about 1842 in Belmont County, Oho.1 Joseph's father was Isaac Varner and his mother was Phoebe Ann Clark. His paternal grandparents were John Varner and Sarah Moore. He had a brother and six sisters, named Armstrong L., Hannah S, Martha, Sarah, Letitia Mary, Glafiary and Phoebe Ann. He was the fourth oldest of the eight children. He died on February 24th, 1909 in Marshaltown, Iowa.1 General Notes

Civil War Vet Co A, 31st Regt Iowa Vols. He was wounded several times and lost toes to gangrene. Wounded in the hip in a battle near Greensboro, NC he was taken prisoner. He died at the Solders Home in Marshaltown Iowa.

Rose was born on April 6th, 1883 in Iowa.1 She died at the age of 82 on June 11th, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery.1 1
