Her paternal grandparents were Richard Sisson and Mary Freeman; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Lawton and Elizabeth Salisbury. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Richard, Thomas Lawton, John, James, George, Elizabeth, Mary, Ann, Hope and Abigail.-
