Rachel was born about 1795.1 Rachel's father was Levi Pennington and her mother was Elizabeth Ray. Her paternal grandparents were Levi Pennington and Martha. She had nine brothers and three sisters, named Levi, Benjamin, Isaac, William M., John, Jesse M., Joseph, Solomon, Noah, Elizabeth, Sarah and Mary. She was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children.-
