Martha Markin

Martha was born on October 29th, 1840 in Ohio.¹   Martha's father was Daniel H. Markin and her mother was Margaret Sumpter.  Her paternal grandparents were Charles W I Markin and Lucinda Dechard; her maternal grandparents were Richard Sumpter and Mary Kingery. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Charles M, Lorenzo Dow, Richard, Daniel, Luttitia, Lucianna and Elizabeth.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 56 on September 4th, 1897 in Lawrence County Ohio.¹ 

‌Martha and Bartley were married in a religious ceremony on February 24th, 1861.¹
