James Whitcomb Riley 
James Whitcomb was born about 1920 in Independence, Kentucky. James Whitcomb's father was Garnett Mitchell Riley and his mother was Nora Mae Waddell. His paternal grandparents were George W. Riley and Nora I. Callent; his maternal grandparents were Roy Raymond Waddell and Katerine Ries. He had two brothers and a sister, named Garnett Mitchell, Howard Milton and Estelle Margaret. He had a half-brother named Living. He died on January 20th, 1945 in Near Beeville, Texas, Copilot, Navy plane crash. He was buried in Texas.-
