following given first hand account given to David RILEY by Lora Mae (RILEY) Mc Niel in San Marcos TX 15 Mar 1978 15March 1978: "William Eldridge Riley was my Great-grandpa. He married twice. I do not know the name of his first wife, bu t I certainly would like to find her name and to know all about her parents a nd her family background. She and here 3 bros/and or sisters died in AL. they h ad no children.He married secondly to Annie Letitia Turner, in Scooba, Kemper Co MS. They had nine children. The family farmed, grew fruit(apples, and peac hes)and had a saw mill. He was a Primitive Baptist preacher. They had 640 acr es of land. They were not rich, nor were they poor. They saw the Civil War. Sherman's raid came close there and frightened them all. The estate was about $300 each at that time.
