NUNCUPATIVE WILL OF WILLIAM RILEY The last will of William Riley Senr. late, of the District of Edgefield deceased- declared by him by word of mouth, 13th da y of August, in the year of our Lord, one thousandeight hundred and sixteen. T o wit. I desire and give unto my beloved wife, Amelia Riley, the three negroes , of which she was possessed upon our intermarriage. To wit, Sharper, Tom and Hager together with the household and and Kitchen furniture and every other art icle which she brought with her upon our intermarriage, to her and her heirs fo rever. Also one half of the crop now growing after paying the doctors bill and Smith work together with a sorrel mare, which I raised. It is further my wil l and desirethat my wife, Amelia, shall continue in peaceable possession of th e house and plantation on which I now live, during her natural life. Except th e parts of the said tract, which I have given to my son, George Riley. It is further my desire that the balance of my property be equally devided among my children, after my lawful debts are paid. The children of James Riley, are to represent their father and to take the share to which he was entitled. I cons titute and appoint my sons, John Riley and Jeremiah Riley my executors, to exe cute this my Last Will and Testament. Box25 Pkg. 908 In a deed dated 1818, The heirs of William Sr. are named as Elijah, George, E ENOCH, Jeremiah, John, the dece ased James' children, Mary RILEY, the wife of Samuel ABNEY, and Elizabeth Rile y, the wife of William MARLOW. William Jr. (called William Wellman in the Lis t of Heirs) is not mentioned. Amelia KING is mentioned as having a life estat e. So Amelia remarried shorthly after Wm's death,and the eldest son, William, has either given up his claim, made s some other arrangements with the othe r heirs, or has died.
