When Jonathan Prather, Jr., was about 22 years old, he was granted 100 acres of land upon whi ch his
mother had at one time lived in Calvert County, Maryland. There are records showing that h e bought
and sold land in Prince Georges County, Maryland, where he, no doubt, was a prosperous tobac co planter.
Jonathan Prather's wife,Elizabeth Bigger, was the daughter of John Bigger of "Two Good", acco rding to
"Maryland History and Geneological Bulletin. Their son Jonathan's wife Jane Mulligan was th e daughter
of James and Jane (Prather) Mulligan. Jonathan died intestate before December 1734. Thomas
was a Colonel in the Maryland Militia (see Maryland History and Geneological Bulletin, Vol. 8 , page 76).
Nothing further is known of John (Sr.), Anne, Susanna, Elizabeth, Jean, and Sarah, who were n amed is
their father's will.
