Herbiorg was born about 1076 in Of, Orkney, Orkney Islands, Scotland.1 Herbiorg's father was Paul THORFINNSSON JARL OF ORKNEY AND CAITHNESS and her mother was Ragnhild HAAKONSDATTER. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Haakon (Haco), Brynjolf, Thora, Ingrid (Ingerid) and Ragnhild. She was the third youngest of the six children.
