John NETHERLAND 
John was born in 1761 in Cumberland Co., Virginia.1 John's father was John Netherland and his mother was Mary Ann Mosby. His paternal grandparents were John Netherland and Sarah Unknown; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin MOSBY and Mary POINDEXTER. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Benjamin, Wade, Richard, Littleberry, Joseph, Samuel, William C., Elizabeth, Francis, Sarah, Powhatan, Polly and Mary. He was the seventh oldest of the fourteen children.-
