Amaury De was born about 1029 in Of, Normandy, France.1   Amaury De's father was Amauri de Montfort and his mother was Bertrade de Gometz.  His paternal grandparents were William de Bastinbourg and Albreda de Montfort; his maternal grandfather was Guillaume De GOMETZ. He had three brothers and a sister, named Simon I Of, Marnier de, Mainer De and Eve de.  He was the youngest of the five children.
