Barbara was born about 1522 in Castle Hanley, Worchestershire, England.1 Barbara's father was Richard of Arle LYGON and her mother was Margaret GREVILLE. Her paternal grandparents were Richard LYGON and Anne Beauchamp; her maternal grandparents were William GREVILLE and Margery ARRELL. She had four brothers and five sisters, named William, Henry, Ferdinando, John, Anne, Ursula, Margery, Susanne and Elizabeth. She was the third youngest of the ten children.-
