1652, 20 Nov: A deed of settlement between Sir Henry Chichley, his wife Agatha, and her two s ons Ralph and William Wormeley, Lancaster Co., VA, made Capt. William Brocas, Mr. William Elt onhead and Mr. Rowland Burnham feoffees in trust for the execution of the settlement. The dee d was renewed in Sep 1654 by Chichley and his wife for the benefit of Ralph Wormeley alone, W illiam Wormeley having died.
1653, 7 May: Ladie Agatha Chichley made a deed of gift for a cow, Lancaster Co., VA, "in cons ideration of the love and affection I bear unto my neece, Eltonhead Conway, ye daughter of Ed win Conway" and if the said Eltonhead dies "I give the cow to my sister Martha the wife of sa id Edwin Conway." Lancaster Co., VA indenture between Sir Henry Chichley of Rosegill, Middl esex Co., VA, Knight, and Ralph Wormeley, of the same place, Esquire, son and heir of Ralph W ormeley, Esq., deceased, and Agatha his wife. The said Ralph Wormeley, deceased, was possess ed of a considerable estate in houses, land, plate, jewels, goods, household stuff, horses, m ares, tobacco, negroes, English servants and other estate in the counties of York and Lancast er (now Middlesex), and said Ralph Wormeley deceased left his estate to his wife, who afterwa rds married Sir Henry Chichley; but before the marriage she settled the estate upon her son , Ralph Wormeley, the younger, who at the time of the marriage was under age of 21; said Chic hley, in payment of the profits of the estate which he has received, conveyed to said Ralph W ormeley, the younger, 700 acres in Middlesex and certain goods (per schedule)...
