Zipporah was born about 1750 in Baltimore Co., MD. Zipporah's father was Abraham Vaughn and her mother was Edith Gist. Her maternal grandparents were Richard Gist and Zipporah Murray. She had five brothers and two sisters, named Gist, Thomas, Christopher, Abraham, Richard, Nancy Ann and Millicent. She was the youngest of the eight children.General Notes

Indenture dated 1 July 1799 Charlotte BUSBY, 8 years old, daughter of
Providence BUSBY, deceased, late of Balto. Co., bound by John BUSBY,
nearest kin in blood. To learn the trade of housework until 16 years
old, bound to *** Zeporah *** Cox wife of Zebediah Cox. This indenture
was signed by Charlotte Busby (x) and Zebediah Cox.
