Maurice was born in September 1911 in Marengo, Iowa Co., IA. Maurice's father was Mark Agnew Simmons and his mother was Jenny Ruth Allum. His paternal grandparents were Mervin Allen Simmons and Mary Virginia Agnew; his maternal grandparents were John Allum and Rosanna Farley. He had three brothers and a sister, named Robert Vernon, Mark M., Cedric Earl and Ardis. He was the second youngest of the five children. He died at 9 months old on June 29th, 1912 in Marengo, Iowa Co., IA.General Notes
