Countess Mathilde of the Mark

Mathilde was born about 1344 in Kleve, Rheinland, Prussia.¹ Mathilde's father was Count Adolf of Mark II and her mother was Countess Margarethe of Kleve. Her paternal grandparents were Count Engelbert of the Mark and Mathilde d' Arenberg. She had two brothers and a sister, named Adolf, Engelbert and Margarethe. She was the second oldest of the four children.
