Rachel was born on November 22nd, 1889 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky.1   Rachel's father was John Burke and her mother was Fanny Ella Ferguson.  Her paternal grandparents were John Patrick Burke and Mary Ann Ingram; her maternal grandparents were Levy Ferguson and Jane Foster. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Jesse, Almer, John, Burr, Mary, Ada and Laura.  She was the third oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 92 on January 20th, 1982.  Her burial was in Hebron Cemetery, Shepherdsville, Kentucky.1 1
