Ms Jane Beddoes 
Jane was born in 1859 in Diddlebury, Shropshire, England.1 Jane's father was Mr William Beddoes and her mother was Ms Elizabeth Smith. Her paternal grandparents were Mr Edward Beddoes and Ms Mary Downes ; her maternal grandparents were Mr Thomas Smith and Ms Elizabeth Smith. Mr Richard Downes and Ms Mary Downes were her grandparents through her father's adoption. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, Thomas, James, Eliza, Mary and Annie. She was the second oldest of the seven children.-
