Henry was born on June 15th, 1849 in Thorne.1  Henry's father was Edward Horsman and his mother was Ann Staniland.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Horsman and Elizabeth Doble; his maternal grandparents were Stephen Staniland and Jane Barley. He had three brothers and a sister, named Edward, Thomas, Ned and Martha.  He was the second youngest of the five children.  He died at the age of 76 on October 26th, 1925 in Krugersdorf, Ontario.2

‌Henry and Lydia were married in a religious ceremony on August 11th, 1875 in Free Wesleyan Chapel, BrunswickSt. Huddersfield witnessed by William Fenton; Hannah Eliza Fenton.1  They had three sons and three daughters, named Edward, William, Henry, Lily, Annie and Elsie.
