Hannah was born before 1789 and her baptism took place on May 16th, 1789 in Thorner.1  Hannah's father was Matthew Dodgson (of Shadwell & Tadcaster) and her mother was Eleanor Thompson.  Her paternal grandparents were Mathew Dodgson and Mary Smith; her maternal grandparents were Joseph Thompson and Sarah Ann. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Matthew, Mary and Ann.  She was the second youngest of the five children.

‌Hannah and Francis were married in a religious ceremony on December 16th, 1807 by Vicar Thomas Carr and witnessed by Richard Richardson, Joseph Dodgson.3   They had a daughter named Ellen.

‌Hannah and John were married in a religious ceremony on October 15th, 1815 in St Peter Leeds.  They had seven sons and three daughters, named John, William, James, Samuel, George, Charles, Frederick, Anne, Eliza and Hannah.
