George Tipper

George was born in 1855 and his baptism took place on February 28th, 1855 in Petworth.¹   George's father was William Tipper and his mother was Jane Steer.  His maternal grandparents were William Steer and Anne Merriott. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Henry, Lewis and Jane.  He was the second youngest of the five children. He had a half-brother named William.
