William was born in 1771 and his baptism took place on November 15th, 1771 in Cottage.1   William's father was Thomas Steer and his mother was Jane Osborn. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, James, William, David, Sarah and Jane. He had a half-brother named William.  He died at the age of 1 in 1772.  He was buried on March 4th, 1772 in Cottage.1
