Thomas was born about 1804 in Pulborough and his baptism took place there on December 2nd, 1804.1 2   Thomas' father was Thomas Steare and his mother was Mary Hawkins. He had a brother and two sisters, named James, Charlotte and Ann.  He was the youngest of the four children.  He died in 1828.  He was buried on April 23rd, 1828 in Pulborough.3
