Charlotte was born in 1796 and her baptism took place on March 13th, 1796 in Pulborough.1   Charlotte's father was Thomas Steare and her mother was Mary Hawkins. She had two brothers and a sister, named James, Thomas and Ann.  She was the oldest of the four children.
