Joseph was born about 1857 in Bath, Somersetshire.1   Joseph's father was Michael STIER and his mother was Ann STIER.  His paternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>. He had a brother and a sister, named Frederick and Ursula M.  He was the youngest of the three children.
