Sarah Ann was born in 1859 in Dartford Kent. Sarah Ann's father was Edwin Edward James and her mother was Mary Ann LONG.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas STEER and Elizabeth. She had a brother and four sisters, named Edwin James, Eliza, Elizabeth Ellen, Maria and Mary Ann Amelia.  She was the second youngest of the six children.  She died at the age of 4 in 1863 in Dartford Kent.1
