Maud was born about 1875 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.1   Maud's father was Richard STEERS and her mother was Emily STEERS.  Her paternal grandfather is <Unknown> and her paternal grandmother was Eliza MALLCOMER. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Richard, Cyril, Blanche, Eliza and Lottie.  She was the second oldest of the six children.
