Frederick was born about 1872 in Sittingbourne, Kent.1   Frederick's father was Laurence W STEERS and his mother was Charlotte STEERS. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Alfred, John T, Alice, Charlotte and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the six children.
