Ellen Elsie was born about 1893 in Folkestone Kent.1   Ellen Elsie's father was Percy Neville STEERS and her mother was Emily Elizabeth STEERS. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Frederick Percy, Frank Neville, John Walter, George Henry, Violet, Edna Maude and Lilian Rose.  She was the oldest of the eight children.
