Edwin C was born about 1881 in Chislehurst Kent.1   Edwin C's father was Henry J STEERS and his mother was Amy STEERS. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Henry C, Sidney J, Jack E, Charles, Fred J, May E, Amy K, Wilhelmina and Alice P.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.
