William H was born about 1872 in Greenwich Kent.1   William H's father was Steer and his mother was Eliza STEER.  His maternal grandfather is <Unknown> and his maternal grandmother was Mary WALLER. He had five brothers and a sister, named James, Sidney J, Alfred G, Henry G, Arthur E and Mabel A.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
