Lydia R was born about 1874 in Midhurst Sussex.1   Lydia R's father was Thomas STEER and her mother was Harriett STEER. She had three brothers and two sisters, named George, Charlie, Joseph, Kate and Bessie.  She was the third oldest of the six children.
