Jane Elizabeth was born in 1785 in Tonbridge, Kent..1   Jane Elizabeth's father was William STEER and her mother was Sophia Luck ELLIOTT.  Her paternal grandparents were Humphrey STEER and Elizabeth HAM. She had six sisters named Anna Maria, Louisa Harriet, Sophia Ann, Elizabeth Jane, Mary Ann and Elizabeth.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.
