Irene was born about 1892 in Grimsby Lincolnshire.1   Irene's father was Jasper STEER and her mother was Alice STEER. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Jasper G, Harry, Amelia, Ada, Elsie and Nelly.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.
