Gertrude was born about 1888 in Salisbury Wilts.1   Gertrude's father was Walter STEER and her mother was Alice Chivers.  Her maternal grandfather is <Unknown> and her maternal grandmother was Emma CHIVERS. She had three brothers named Ernest, Sidney and William.  She was the oldest of the four children.
