Eliza was born about 1882 in Rotherham, Yorkshire.1   Eliza's father was William STEER and her mother was Annie STEER. She had two brothers named Thomas and William.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Wilfred, Frank, Christabel and Jane.
