Edith Iris was born about 1906 in Lenton, Nottinghamshire.1   Edith Iris' father was George STEER and her mother was Violetta Mary STEER. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Leonard George, John William Vernon, Henry Leslie, Violetta Mary and Lilian Dorothy.  She was the second youngest of the six children.
