Edith was born about 1881 in Letherhead, Surrey.1   Edith's father was Eli STEER and her mother was Mary A STEER. She had seven sisters named Mary, Annie M, Jane, Sarah Louisa, Isabel R, Alice and Kate.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
