Doris was born about 1901 in Rotherham Yorkshire.1   Doris' father was William STEER and her mother was Mary Maria STEER. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Wilfred, Charles, James William, Beatrice, Mary, Ethel, Ida and STEER.  She was the fifth oldest of the nine children.
