David F was born about 1881 in Battersea London.1   David F's father was Alfred Wm STEER and his mother was Martha STEER. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Alfred D, Henry, Louisa Maria, Martha A, Alice E and Ada T.  He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.
