Alfred D was born about 1877 in Battersea London.1   Alfred D's father was Alfred Wm STEER and his mother was Martha STEER. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Henry, David F, Louisa Maria, Martha A, Alice E and Ada T.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.
