Catherine was born in 1714 in Caterham Surrey.1   Catherine's father was Ralph STEER and her mother was Catherine KING.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas STEER and Mary. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Ralph, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary and Martha. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, William, George, Margaret and Jane.
