Ann was born about 1873 in South Molton, Devon.1   Ann's father was Robert STEER and her mother was Eliza STEER. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William H, Robert, John, Richard, Mary A, Emma J and Eliza.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
