Albert was born about 1890 in Newton Abbot, Devonshire.1   Albert's father was Thomas STEER and his mother was Sarah Thorn.  His paternal grandparents are <Unknown> and <Unknown>; his maternal grandfather was William THORN and his maternal grandmother is <Unknown>. He had three brothers named John T, Frank and Fred.  He was the youngest of the four children.
