Agnes was born about 1891 in Saddleworth, Yorkshire.1   Agnes' father was Philip STEER and her mother was Mary Jane STEER. She had a brother and four sisters, named James Albert, Eliza, Mary Ann, Alice and Tely.  She was the third youngest of the six children.
